The Timeline
The Terminator Franchise is by no way of looking at it, small. There are a total of five iconic movies that make up the series, and there are more to come as well. In fact, the latest instalment is said to be the first of a three-part series taking place in the future. That means we can expect to see a lot more from the brilliant minds behind this series.

As we already mentioned, the first movie, The Terminator, was released in 1984. Then, seven years later, we saw Terminator 2: Judgment Day. Both of these movies together provided the basis for everything to come, and any true fan of the series will tell you that these were likely to be the best two movies.

In 2003, Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines came out as a sequel to the previous movie and followed the same storyline. This instalment in the series was one of the highest grossing movies the franchise saw, although most of them were somewhere between three and four hundred million. Whatever way you decide to look at it, there is no arguing the massive popularity that this franchise has enjoyed.

The last two movies took a bit of a break from the storyline, but remained true to what the fans liked to see. Both in 2009 and in 2013, the last two Terminator movies featured plenty of machine warfare and the theme of human survival.
